The
use of PVC as a
ducting system for wet area mechanical ventilation is allowed under the
Alternative Solutions requirements of the BCA performance requirement
CP4 (Ref Stephen Grubits & Associates, Report 2003/193 R1.2). PVC plastic duct gives a flexibility of mechanical ventilation never before offered. The Airaway PVC system services toilets, bathrooms, en-suites, laundries and kitchens. We also offer ventilation solutions for lobby and garbage room areas. Our installations are fully compliant and certified to AS1668.2. Fire dampers are installed to ensure fire integrity and compliance with AS1668.1 -1998. The flexibility of PVC installations allows for synergy with other trades. PVC is light and resistant to corrosive attack in coastal situations. Our exclusive heavy-duty nylon tie fixing system gives clean, safe and corrosion free fixing.  The smooth bore and elimination
of air leakage allow for smaller fans with consequent reduction in
noise level and energy consumption.

PVC
systems can be
configured either horizontally using high-quality multi speed in-line
fans or vertically using superior quality roof mounted centrifugal fans. Whisper Flex acoustic duct is AS4254 rated for maximum smoke and fire resistance. Venture tape is used almost exclusively with AS4254 rating. Grilles are supplied to architect specifications and requirements and can be either square or circular shaped, egg crate in plastic or aluminium construction. Our aluminium grilles are sourced from fully compliant ISO 9001 certified manufacturers. Our installers are fully trained, certified and equipped with dedicated vans and the most modern equipment. All installations are certified for noise and air flow compliance to specified values. Measurement of total grille air flow is performed using an Alnor LoFlo balometer capture hood. Airaway installations are fully documented with compliance to the latest OH&S requirements. Project Safety plans, Safe Work Method statements and MSDS are always prepared. |
